Editorial Process for Books

The editorial process of the UNIDX Editorial Fund is designed to ensure that all published books meet high standards of academic quality, methodological rigor, and editorial consistency. This process follows a structured sequence of stages, from initial submission to final publication, under the supervision of the Editorial Board.

The process begins with the formal receipt of the manuscript and its corresponding documentation. Upon submission, the editorial team conducts an initial screening to verify that the materials have been properly submitted and that they align with the general scope and editorial objectives of the Fund. This preliminary stage ensures that only manuscripts meeting the basic requirements proceed to further evaluation.

Following the initial review, the manuscript undergoes an academic assessment coordinated by the Editorial Board. At this stage, the work is submitted to a peer review process, in which it is evaluated by one or more external reviewers with recognized expertise in the relevant subject area. The peer review process is conducted under principles of academic rigor, objectivity, and confidentiality, allowing for an independent and critical assessment of the manuscript’s content, structure, and contribution to knowledge.

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editorial Board determines the outcome of the evaluation. The manuscript may be accepted, accepted with required revisions, or declined. In cases where revisions are necessary, the authors are expected to address all observations and recommendations in a timely and thorough manner. This iterative process between reviewers and authors plays a crucial role in strengthening the academic quality of the work.

Once the manuscript has been approved at the academic level, it proceeds to the editorial production stage. During this phase, the text undergoes technical editing, including language refinement, stylistic correction, and standardization of references and formatting. This is followed by the layout and design process, in which the manuscript is prepared for its final presentation as a published book.

After completing all editorial and production stages, the book is finalized and scheduled for publication through the institutional platforms of the Editorial Fund. The entire process is supervised and validated by the Editorial Board, ensuring that each stage complies with the established editorial standards and that the final publication reflects the quality expected of an academic work.

The duration of the editorial process may vary depending on factors such as the complexity of the manuscript, the time required for peer review, and the responsiveness of the authors during revision stages. Throughout the process, the Editorial Board maintains oversight to ensure the integrity, quality, and consistency of the publication.
